Welcome, I’m Jacqueline Nkwocha, an online English teacher with a deep love for connection, creativity, and growth. Many of my students know me as Tutor Rose—a name I use because it’s easier for children to recognise, remember, and pronounce, helping them feel comfortable and confident from the very first lesson.

Learning English opens up a world of opportunity. Whether you’re moving to a new country or school, connecting with people across the globe, advancing your career, or preparing for future dreams, speaking English can take you there. It’s the most widely spoken language in the world—and learning it can be both empowering and exciting.

For young learners, picking up a second language early can be a true head start in life. And for everyone, being able to communicate with others is a gift—it can open doors to friendships, travel, education, and in addition add to your professional success.

I’ve had the joy of teaching amazing students from all over the world, each one dedicated and eager to grow. But here’s the thing: language learning isn’t something that happens overnight. It takes commitment, curiosity, and consistency. The good news? The journey is absolutely worth it—and I’ll be with you every step of the way.

I believe there’s no one-size-fits-all way to learn a language. When lessons are tailored to your personality and your needs, you’re more likely to stay motivated, enjoy the process—and sometimes even forget you’re speaking English at all!

Introducing Leo, Poppy, and Max!

We’ve already met Azul and all his wonderful ocean friends, but there are a few more amazing members of the team who make learning such an adventure. Let’s dive in and meet Leo, Poppy, and their adorable puppy, Max! Together, they’re helping kids all around the world learn about ocean creatures, pets, animals from every corner of the globe, and even school topics like the months of the year, prepositions, and so much more.

Hi, I’m Leo!

Hi, I’m Leo! I’m six years old, and I love the beach. There’s just something about the sound of the waves and the salty sea breeze that makes me feel happy.

But sometimes, I see rubbish in the sand and floating in the water, and that makes me sad. A few months ago, Azul and his ocean friends, me, and my sister Poppy — with help from Theodore the fisherman — saved a seal in the bay that got stuck in a fishing net! Then, not long after, Danika the dolphin got a plastic bag in her mouth, but brave Marly the crab used his pinchers to pull it out and save her — it was amazing! This kind of thing should not be happening to the sea creatures in the ocean! We all have to do our part to keep the sea clean and safe for everyone who lives there.

That’s why I’ve made it my mission to help rid the sea of plastic pollution. With the help of my best buddy Azul the turtle and all his ocean friends — and even Theodore the fisherman — we’re starting to make real progress! Together, we’re teaching everyone how small changes can make a big difference. Every clean-up helps the ocean sparkle again!

Hi, I’m Poppy!

Hi, I’m Poppy! I’m five years old, and I love nature, animals, and anything pretty — like rainbows, flowers, and the colour pink! I’m always ready for an adventure with Leo, and I adore exploring the world to learn new things.

When I go to the park, I ask my friends to help me pick up plastic bottles and rubbish so the animals and flowers can stay happy and safe.

I also think it’s really important to take care of our pets with love and clean homes so they can live their best lives ever!

At school, I love learning new things because it helps me understand the world around me — like how the weather changes or why bees are so important. Learning is even more fun when you can share it with friends, and I think the world is a beautiful place worth looking after every single day.

Hi, I’m Max!

Woof! Hi, I’m Max! I’m a Labrador puppy, and Leo and Poppy are my favourite people in the whole world. I get so excited when they take me on their adventures — and I even get to be in their YouTube videos sometimes!

I love running around, playing fetch, and getting lots of cuddles. My favourite food is my crunchy dog biscuits, but I also love my pamper days — a bubbly bath, a good brush, clean teeth, and even my nails clipped (okay, maybe that bit’s not so fun).

I’m only little at the moment, but I hope to grow big and strong like some of the other dogs in the park! But when I’m all clean and shiny, I feel paws-itively perfect!

Azul

Say hello to Azul, a wise and kind juvenile Hawksbill turtle with a unique turquoise body and a striking orange-patterned shell. Living in a vibrant Caribbean bay surrounded by colourful coral reefs and shimmering fish, Azul is at the heart of our stories—each one built around the values of friendship, teamwork, resilience, and environmental care.

Through exciting adventures and gentle life lessons, Azul helps children understand the importance of protecting our oceans, showing how even small actions like leaving litter on the beach can have big consequences. Always ready to solve problems and learn along the way, Azul inspires young minds to believe that we all have the power to make a difference.

Danika

Danika is a young, playful grey dolphin who brings energy and joy to every corner of the Caribbean bay she calls home. Her favourite way to start the day is with a refreshing morning swim—often leading her to sea creatures in need, caught in plastic bags or tangled in fishing nets. These discoveries spark new adventures that highlight the impact of pollution and the importance of protecting marine life.

As a loyal best friend to Azul, Danika is always ready to lend a helping fin, sharing in the mission to teach children about empathy, responsibility, and ocean conservation. Whether she’s problem-solving or playfully leaping alongside Theodore the fisherman’s boat, Danika reminds us that kindness, curiosity, and teamwork can lead to real change.

Marley

Marley is an old, wise crab with a tough shell and an even tougher love for the bay he calls home. Though sometimes a little grumpy—especially when puzzled by the strange plastics that keep turning up in his beloved waters—Marley is always hard at work. You’ll often find him muttering to himself while tirelessly cleaning the ocean floor, dragging plastic bags and bottles to the shore in his mission to keep the bay safe.

With powerful claws and an even stronger sense of duty, Marley is a true hero behind the scenes. A fiercely loyal friend to Azul and the crew, he’s always ready to lend a claw to help a trapped creature in need. His dedication reminds children that caring for our world starts with noticing the little things—and taking action.

Pearl and Jovian

Pearl and Jovian are a lively pair of clownfish with striking orange, white, and black stripes, full of energy and curiosity. They love darting through the vibrant corals and playing hide-and-seek in the swaying kelp beds, bringing a playful spirit to every corner of the bay. But when there’s trouble brewing in the ocean, Pearl and Jovian spring into action.

As trusted messengers of Azul’s Ocean Heroes, they’re often the first to spot a problem or help Danika the dolphin if she has come across one—they are the first to find Azul when a new mission begins. With a deep sense of urgency and a strong bond of teamwork, these quick and clever fish play a key role in making sure every adventure begins on time. Their presence reminds young readers that even the smallest voices can help spark big change.

Safiya

Safiya is a graceful jellyfish with soft purple hues who floats through the bay with a calm, gentle presence. Wise and kind, she is deeply committed to keeping the ocean a safe and clean place for all who live there.

With a natural gift for teaching, Safiya gently guides the younger fish, helping them understand the dangers of plastic bags and fishing nets—not through fear, but through thoughtful lessons that empower and protect. Her calm wisdom adds balance to every adventure, and her deep friendship with Azul and the rest of the Ocean Heroes is rooted in mutual respect and shared purpose. Safiya shows children that knowledge and kindness go hand in hand when it comes to caring for our planet.
